AHS Class of 1991 - 20th Reunion

Welcome, Class of 1991! Our 20th Ames High reunion is planned for Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16, 2011, in, of course, Ames! Reunion weekend activities include:

* Grab your clubs Friday morning and join your classmates at Veenker Memorial Golf Course (1925 Stange Road) for a day on the greens! Our class has reservations to tee off anytime between 10 and 11 a.m. If you want to golf, please call Veenker (515-294-6727) and sign yourself up with the Ames High Class of 1991. Cost for 9 holes with a cart is $26.50 and cost for 18 holes with a cart is $39. Payment is due at the time of golf. For more details, contact Sarah (Spear) Cook at cook.sarah@live.com.

* Come for a casual social time at Olde Main Brewing Co. (316 Main Street) in downtown Ames on Friday evening. We'll start gathering at 7 p.m., and there is no entrance charge. Attendees are responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages. Olde Main is reserving the balcony in their pub area for us. Come meet and greet your classmates, and kick the weekend off!

* Bill Ripp has graciously agreed to meet any interested class of 1991 alums at Ames High (1921 Ames High Drive) on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to lead us on a tour of the school. The tour will take about an hour, and then the school will remain open until noon for those who just want to wander around and relive some old memories. The spirit wear shop will also be open for us, if you're itching for some new Ames High apparel. Families are welcome to come on the tour, so pack up the kids and come take a look at our old stomping grounds, which have changed pretty dramatically!

* Then bring your family over to Inis Grove Park on Saturday, where we've reserved the Walnut Shelter (off Duff Avenue) beginning at 11 a.m. We'll have box sandwich lunches, and the kids can play on the playground! Cost to attend the picnic is $8 for adults, and $5 for children ages 10 and under. Reservations need to be made in advance on this website, as all box lunches will be ordered prior to the event.

* Now it's time for the main event! We'll gather beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center (2100 Green Hills Drive) in the beautiful Garden Room and outside patio, where we can eat, drink, dance and catch up! Cost to attend the Saturday evening event is $40 per person, and a cash bar will be operating. Reservations and payment must be made in advance.

We have a full weekend of fun events, but it won't be very enjoyable if you don't come! So please click on the Reunion Registration page, fill out the form indicating which events you'll be attending, and mail in your payment. We hope to see you in July!
